Community Support
Our Funding
St. John Ambulance, Mississauga Branch is a not-for-profit organization which supports itself through a variety of funding sources.
- First Aid Training, First Aid Kits and First Aid Supplies sales. Revenues are used to cover our overhead and administrative expenses. Surplus revenues are directed to community services.
- Donations - People and organizations who benefit from our community services will often thank us with donations. Charitable receipts are provided.
- Mississauga Central Lions Club - This club has contributed a great deal over the years to our vehicle fund, which ensures that mobile first aid posts are available to provide shelter, comfort and privacy to people in need at public events.
- City of Mississauga Corporate Grant - Each year the City of Mississauga provides some funds to assist our Medical First Response Division.
- Nevada Fund helps to support some of the costs of training school children in first aid, CPR and babysitting, as well as purchase supplies for the Car Seat Safety Team.
- Grants - Grants are applied for as needed to assist with special projects. The Ontario Trillium Foundation has provided grants for the purchase of a mobile first aid post, building renovations, communications and marketing and fund development programs. KPMG and Bank of Montreal grants were used to replace first aid shelters.
- Product and service donations are gratefully accepted to support community service delivery.
- Special events are held one or twice per year to fund raise for special projects

1. Capital Campaign for a new building.
St. John Ambulance needs a new building in Mississauga to serve the growing community. Donations and grants are required to make this dream a reality.

Imagine what you would feel like to be the leader in a project that significantly improves the health and safety of the community.
Leadership gifts of $1,000 and up, are collected until one of the above projects can be fulfilled. For large donations, acknowledgements will be suitable provided and mutually agreed upon
