Car Seat Clinics

Our Clinics are run at no charge to the public however, to cover some of our costs, donations are accepted and very much appreciated. Please continue to check out this webpage for future car clinics. We do operate Child Restraint Technician Certification Training and 2012 Car Seat Workshop.

2012 Upcoming Clinics:

Saturday April 28 at Subaru - 6160 Mavis Road.  Please phone 905-569-7777 to book an appointment.

The Ontario Provincial Police also does inspections all year and have scheduled clinics posted on their website at www.OPP.ca

The Car Seat Safety Team no longer maintains a waiting list for car seat inspections. All clinics are by appointment only unless otherwise specified. It is hoped this will reduce the long waiting periods for the clinics. Upon arrival, every effort will be made to advise parents should delays occur. Everyone given an inspection time will be seen. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, some appointments may extend beyond the anticipated timeframes. We do thank you in advance for your patience during these situations.

Car Seat Safety inspection results from across Canada indicate that four out of five children are not properly secured in motor vehicles today. Transport Canada estimates that over 70 percent of children's deaths and injuries are due to motor vehicles collisions could be prevented if children are properly restrained. In response to these statistics, St. John Ambulance has developed a new volunteer community service dedicated to assisting parents and caregivers on the proper installation of their child's car seat. Our trained and certified Child Restraint Technician volunteers will guide you through the process of ensuring your child's car seat is installed in the best way possible for your vehicle.

Please note that there is a waiting list due to high volumes. We recommend that you bring your vehicle manual and child restraint instruction booklet along with you. Please also bring your child and someone to look after them while you work with us on the installation. Allow enough time to complete the process (approximately 30 minutes per car seat). We look forward to seeing you there!
